UK’s International Power working on US$1.3bn Indonesian power project

UK-based International Power is working on a 850MW thermal power plant in Paiton, Indonesia. It requires an investment of US$1.3bn and is being funded by a consortium of eight foreign banks via the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
The UK has also teamed up with Marubeni Corporation and five local partners to develop a similar 500MW project in Cirebon, which will require US$600m in investment (VIVAnews).
