Germany’s wind capacity grew by 15% in 2009

Germany’s wind energy industry expanded by 15 per cent in 2009, according to German Association on Wind Energy (BWE) figures. Across the country, 952 new wind turbines were installed last year, increasing the power supplied by wind to around 26,000MW. A key project in the expansion was a new wind farm off the northern coast of Germany.
